Letter to My Mother, Pam ... Korey "KT" Thomas
Hey Mama, I know you feel my pain, but you have to remember when you're in pain I'm in pain.
I know some days are better than others, but your son is okay. As painful as it is, you have to let go.
I not only lived a full life, but a purposeful life. Pam you are my mother and I know that you love me, as well as how much you love me - and that will never change. I won't you to know I will never leave you, nor will I love you any less - but you must understand for me to be in Peace and be at Peace, you must do so first.
I didn't leave you, I just moved to a better place; a place where Peace is everlasting. It is a Peace that is truly undescribeable. That's the same Peace I want to see in your life again.
As your son, I can't see, or shall I say - I don't see that Peace with you. I look at your face and I see my mom, Pam ... I see pain, frustration, unhappiness. God said, not to suffer in one's death, but we must rejoice, be happy and be glad in it.
To mama, Pam - find that place in your heart, in your life, Let Go, because I never left you. I wouldn't do that, but in order for me to go in Peace, you must also live in Peace - not only for me, but especially for you and my brother Mikey.
Once this is accomplished, I can be at Peace, even though I will never be forgotten; but If not for yourself. do it for Korey "KT" Thomas, Marlon "Mikey" Thomas, and my nieces and nephew.
Please,
"KT" Korey Thomas
P. S.
When all thses things take place, I won't need a card or a letter, nor will I need a phone call. I will know; I won't even have to see it with my own eyes. I will know, because then I will be at PEACE!

His Legacy
Korey was born on June 10, 1985. He came into this world making a statement. Always happy weighing 10 and 1/2 lbs. at birth. He has one older brother Marlon Lavon Thomas, who worshiped the ground Korey walked on. He always looked after his baby brother, and of course this sentiment of brotherly love was returned to Marlon "Mikey" from Korey.
Korey grew up in Rose City, a community in North Little Rock, AR. from age 4. Being a gifted ball player, he began his career with T-Ball for the local community center. During the next 10 to 12 years Korey and Marlon "Mikey" thrived to be in the ball park daily and for long hours. Both of these brothers excelled in baseball & basketball and were deeply loved by their teammates. Korey received countless trophies and awards during his tenure as a ball player. He was named by many, as "Rose City's Finest" and indeed he was.
Korey attended Rose City Elementary, Lynch Drive Elementary, Rose City Jr. High and North Little Rock High, ultimately graduating from Oak Grove High in the Fall of 2003.
During his short young adult life he worked for Best Buy, Watkins Brother Detail, and several Food Chain Resturants. He was very independant and would give a stranger his last. Korey was extremely family oriented, but he also welcomed his extended family of friends. He had one nephew, Jaden, that he loved dearly. In addition, he had two nieces, Zhante and Brianna-a wonderful sister-in-law, Connie - all of whom were beginning to enjoy the close knit bond of family. Korey also had a special love in his life, Gaylon.
A mother knows when someone has taken that special place in their child's life, and I am proud to say - I didn't mind sharing. It's somewhat peculiar, but you don't hear from them as often-ironically, they don't ask you to clean their room anymore, (Smile). Gaylon had become like a 2nd daughter, of course Connie was my first through the marriage of my first born, Marlon.
Korey will live on in all of our hearts. His spirit will never die and his love of life will be fulfilled through the memories of each person that knew and loved him. The most promising fact is, we will meet again - it's inevitable, and that will be a joyous time, too! We will forever love Korey "KT" Thomas, and we treasure the "19 Years of Life" that God shared him with us in the flesh, he was indeed a blessing to many...
Korey's legacy will live forever, please continue to light a candle in his honor and memory. Never forget the smile that he gave so freely and as you go about your daily walks of life - share Korey's life with another, by simply giving them a smile. Afterall, "It's Free!"
